We're proud to announce that SWBeans Limited is now the exclusive distributor of KIMBO coffee across the South West. If you run a café, restaurant, hotel, or retail outlet anywhere from Bristol down to Cornwall, this is your only route to the authentic taste of Naples — and we couldn't be more excited to bring it to the region.
Why This Matters for the South West-
KIMBO isn't just another Italian coffee brand on a supermarket shelf. It's one of Naples' most loved and iconic names in coffee, instantly recognisable on espresso machines in bars across Italy. Until now, getting genuine KIMBO beans into the South West has meant going through importers with little local knowledge or support. As the region's sole official distributor, SWBeans Limited changes that — offering local stock, local delivery, and a team who understands both the coffee and the customers who'll be drinking it.
Whether you're looking to switch your house blend, add an authentic Neapolitan option to your menu, or simply want the real thing for your own kitchen, we're now your direct line to KIMBO in the South West.
The Story Behind KIMBO-
KIMBO's roots go back to Naples in the 1940s and 50s, when the three Rubino brothers — Francesco, Gerardo and Elio — were working in their father's bakery and began roasting and selling coffee to local cafés. Their espresso quickly built a following well beyond the bakery counter, and by 1955 the brothers were trading roasted beans on their own.
In 1963, the family officially registered their company as Caffè do Brasil, becoming one of the pioneers of packaged coffee in Italy — a genuine innovation at the time, allowing roasted beans to travel further and stay fresher for longer. It wasn't until 1971 that the now-famous KIMBO trademark was born, a name adapted from "jumbo" and chosen to evoke the warm, exotic lands where coffee is grown.
From there, the brand grew steadily into a household name across Italy, built on what's known as Neapolitan Master Roasting — a traditional, slow-roasting technique passed down through generations of Naples' coffee culture. KIMBO's blends combine Arabica beans sourced from South America with Robusta from Asia, creating the rich, full-bodied character that's become synonymous with a true Neapolitan espresso.
Today, KIMBO is produced at a large, modern roasting plant in Melito, just outside Naples, and the coffee is exported to more than 100 countries worldwide. It remains one of Italy's leading retail coffee brands and, more importantly to Italians themselves, one of the most authentic expressions of Naples' deep, centuries-old relationship with coffee — a city where the ritual of espresso is treated as a genuine art form.
